Liposuction
Liposuction is the process of locally collecting accumulated fat with the help of negative pressure, called a cannula.
Liposuction operation can be done in 4 main methods. These are:
a- Classic Liposuction
b- Laser Assisted Liposuction
c- Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction (VASER)
d- Liposuction with Radiofrequency
The most suitable patients for this operation are patients with height / weight ratio close to ideal and regional excess. You should decide with your physician after the interview with your plastic surgeon whether you are the right patient.
No liposuction operation is to be done for weight loss. Liposuction is a body contour correction operation. The post-operative target is slimming not weight loss.
Liposuction operation should only be performed in a fully equipped hospital. This preference is very important for the health of the patient.
It can be done under General, Local or Local + Sedation Anesthesia according to the area to be performed and the amount of fat to be taken. If only one area and a small amount of liposuction is to be performed, local anesthesia is sufficient. General anesthesia is more appropriate for the health of the patient if the liposuction is to be carried out in multiple areas. In order to decide your anesthesia-type, your physician and you should decide with the anesthesiologist in the hospital you will be operated.
Generally, after the operation, returning to social life and work life can last 3-5 days. Bruising, swelling, pain is more common in the first week and then decreases rapidly.
For Laser Assisted Liposuction corset use is 15 days, while in other liposuction methods corset use can exceed 1 month of time. At the end of 1 month, the figure will settle well at 70% rate, and the fit of your body shape can last about 6 months. This period is the same in all surgeries.
The number of fat cells in our body is fixed. When you gain weight, the fat cells expand. Liposuction reduces the number of fat cells in the area applied. If the patient gains too much weight after liposuction, the areas become more swollen because less fat cells are left in the operating area. This leads to deformity. Therefore, patients should pay attention to their lifestyle and add diet and exercise to their lifestyle in order to protect the outcome of the operation.
Liposuction operation is the most common operation in the world according to World Plastic Surgery Association (ISAPS) 2015 statistics. After a liposuction operation is performed by an experienced plastic surgeon, complications risk is much lower than the risk of having a traffic accident in Turkey's traffic for a healthy patient who does not have an additional systemic disease.
